About Green Tree Arts Studio
Green Tree Arts Studio was created to offer gentle, creative spaces where art and nature can support wellbeing, reflection, and personal growth. Creativity can help us explore our thoughts, feelings, life experiences, and hopes for the future. When combined with nature, whether through natural materials, imagery, seasonal themes, or time spent outdoors, creativity can become a powerful way to slow down, reflect, and reconnect.
The focus of all sessions is on the creative process rather than the finished artwork. The aim is not to create perfect art, but to explore, express, reflect, and discover.
Nicola Kennell
Green Tree Arts Studio is led by Nicola Kennell an experienced Art Therapist with over 25 years’ experience working with children, young people, and adults across health, education, and charity sectors.
Over the years, the work has included supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, life changes, health challenges, identity exploration, grief, and personal transitions. Alongside therapeutic work, there has been a strong focus on creativity, nature, reflection, and personal growth.
Since developing online creative programmes and nature-based workshops, Green Tree Arts Studio has grown into a space that offers a safe space for creativity and nature to help us reflect, grow, and reconnect with ourselves.

Working Online – Accessible Creative Spaces
‘Creativity Without Distance’
Many of our workshops, programmes, and sessions are delivered online.
Working online allows people to join from wherever they are, whether they live in rural areas, have health conditions, busy schedules, caring responsibilities, or simply prefer to join from the comfort of their own space.
Online creative sessions can still feel warm, welcoming, and connected. Participants use simple art materials they already have at home, and we often incorporate natural objects, seasonal themes, and creative prompts to bring the outside world into the creative space.
Working online makes creative and reflective spaces more accessible, inclusive, and available to people who might otherwise not be able to attend in-person sessions. Encouraging people to create calming and personal creative spaces at home.
ENGAGING WITH NATURE ONLINE
Bringing Nature into the Creative Space
Even though many sessions are delivered online, connection with nature is still a central part of our workshops and sessions.
Participants are invited to bring natural objects to sessions such as leaves, stones, flowers, feathers, or objects collected on walks. We also use photographs, seasonal themes, natural materials, and creative prompts inspired by landscapes, trees, water, light, and the changing seasons.
Participants are encouraged people to notice the nature around them in their own environment, whether that is a garden, a park, a window view, or a small natural object on a desk. In this way, creativity becomes a way of connecting with nature wherever we are. Online creative sessions make creativity, reflection, and wellbeing more accessible, inclusive, and available to people wherever you are.
Here at Green Tree, we believe these workshops show that you do not need to be in the middle of a forest to connect with nature, sometimes all you need is a leaf, a stone, a photograph, a memory, or a moment of noticing. Creativity becomes the bridge between ourselves and the natural world, wherever we are
